Veterans of Foreign Wars, Herington, hosted its 15th annual 9/11 walk at Herington Lake Sunday, Sept. 11. The color guard walked one time around with a prayer recited at each station by the Rev. Brain Polin. Local residents and first responders then walked laps around the lake. There were 79 members along with three dogs, community members, 14 firefighters, two emergency medical technicians and four police officers who walked. Logging in the most laps Judy Tomsello with nine and the youngest attendee was 11 months old. The totaled laps walked was 160 which equals 237,600 feet or 45 miles.
