2018 – 19 School year budget hearing held August 2

The USD 473 Board of Education met for a special meeting on August 2 at 8:00 p.m. at the USD 473 Education Center to discuss the proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year. Despite being an open meeting and previously announced, there were no patrons in attendance at the proceedings.

Superintendent Jerry Hodson presented an overview of the proposed budget that will be voted on at a Special Board meeting, to be held on August 21 at 7:45 a.m. During his presentation, Hodson provided each of the board members a handout of the complete budget for their review and showed a power point presentation he had prepared that illustrated the district’s rapidly escalating funding issues necessitating a 1.1 mill increase in the 2018-19 budget.
